Terms of Service

Guidacle helps you discover and listen to information about places using your device's location. Content is sourced from Wikipedia and other public databases and is written by an AI model. The Service is provided "as is" — the accuracy of information about any particular place is not guaranteed, and there is no human review step before you hear it.

There are two separate products, sold separately:

• The mobile app for iOS and Android — the full product, including guided walks and route running with live location, and audio generated on demand for places that do not have any yet.
• Guidacle Light, used in a web browser — a smaller product. It has no guided walks and no route running, and not all content is created on demand there: some audio is available only where it already exists.

A subscription to one does not give access to the other. You may hold both.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Guidacle. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

Guidacle Light (web). Sold as a subscription, billed monthly or annually at the price shown at checkout, and renewing automatically until cancelled. It is sold and billed by Paddle.com Inc., our Merchant of Record, who is the seller of record for that purchase and whose Buyer Terms govern it.

Mobile app.Sold inside the app by Apple or Google, under that store's terms, as either an auto-renewing subscription or a day pass. A day pass is a one-time purchase that runs for a set period and then ends by itself; it does not renew. Buying another pass while one is running adds its time to the end of the one you have.

Guidacle Light (web). You can start a free trial once, from inside the web app. It requires no payment details and is not a subscription: nothing is charged, and it ends by itself at the end of its period. There is nothing to cancel. When it ends you can still browse and use your account, but playing audio requires a subscription.

Mobile app. A new account is given one free day. It is set aside at sign-up and its clock starts when you begin your first walk, not when you register. It also requires no payment details and does not renew.

The two are separate. Using one does not consume the other.

Do not use the Service to harass others, violate any law, infringe intellectual-property rights, attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, or otherwise interfere with the operation of the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.

Most Service content is sourced from Wikipedia and Wikidata under their respective licences (CC BY-SA 4.0 and CC0 1.0). When a stop is narrated, the in-app player marks the narration as AI-generated and links to the source article.

The AI features generate explanatory text and audio on the fly using large language models and text-to-speech. Generated content is provided for entertainment and educational purposes only and may contain inaccuracies.

Guidacle is a guidance aid, not a navigation system. Always pay attention to your surroundings and obey local laws. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranty and our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or for legitimate operational reasons, with reasonable notice where practical.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

Guidacle is operated by KICODE AS (org.nr 937 901 143), a company registered in Norway. KICODE AS is the contracting party for these Terms. Payments made on the web are processed by Paddle.com Inc. as Merchant of Record on its behalf; purchases made inside the app are sold by Apple or Google.
